1 What-does-good-programmer

In today's episode, we asked our programmers: what do they consider to be the characteristics of a good programmer? See what character traits and skills you need to possess if you want to be perceived as a good programmer.

How to recognize a good programmer

According to our programmers, the following factors determine success in the IT world:

  1. First and foremost, you enjoy programming.
  2. You want to be very good at what you do, and at the same time, you have no qualms (or objections) about asking others for help.
  3. You know how to approach your work in the simplest (and most efficient) way possible.
  4. You know what you don't know, and strive to make up for your shortcomings.
  5. You think unconventionally and are able to solve problems because of it.
  6. You don't get lost in your own code.
  7. You can choose the right tools to solve the right problems.
  8. You maintain a "cool head," even in difficult situations (such as a program crashing in production).
  9. You have no problem accepting constructive criticism.
  10. Problems are challenges for you.
